Diamond Beach

It's not a tourist trap - we swear! This is one of the very few places in Bali that actually deserves the hype, and you're guaranteed to be as blown away as we were.

Diamond Beach is one of the most popular beaches for tourists visiting Bali - and although we were initially worried that this place would be a huge tourist trap, it ended up being one of our highlights. Located on the small island of Nusa Penida, southeast of Bali, this place is well worth the hype.

We recommend arriving early or late in the evening, or visiting during off-peak season to avoid the crowds. Be warned, although the sand may be silky smooth and the water glistening blue, swimming at Diamond Beach is super dangerous due to the massive waves, rocks, and currents. You can climb to the viewpoint and even zipline over the top of it, but as for a relaxing swimming spot, you're better off going to one of Bali's calmer beaches, like Amed.

Pro tip: To bypass the entrance fee into Diamond Beach, start your day at Atuh Beach. You can walk along Atuh Beach and up the stairs and reach Diamond Beach from there. For more tips, check out our YouTube video!
