Kelingking Beach
Fear not - this isn't a tourist trap! There are lots of tourists, yes... but for a very good reason.

The first thing I have to say about this place is thank god they are dismantling that awful elevator! The last thing Kelingking beach needs is even more people, and a giant eyesore wedged right into the side of the cliff face.
The second thing I have to say is that this beach is absolutely stunning and deserves all the hype it gets. It's truely one of the most remarkable views and was definitely not as overrun by tourists as we expected. The drive here is windy and bumpy (especially if you're on a motorbike like us!) but definitely worth it.
PRO TIP: Bring your own food and water. All the shops here charge atleast 3x the price of what is normal in Indonesia simply because they can.
2nd PRO TIP: Most of the crowd converges at the very top of the viewpoint. For atleast ten minutes we thought this crowd was a line to get down to the hike because everyone was standing along the railing to look at the view, It's not a line so don't waste your time queueing up! Instead, if you're up for it, head straight to the stairs heading down the side of the cliff face. We didn't do the whole hike, we walked down the first few sets of stairs and even that was enough to escape pretty much everyone. We were so surprised at how easy it was to escape the crowds, and for a long while we had a whole staircase and view to ourselves!
3rd PRO TIP: There is a secret viewing platform directly near the car park. It's a large concrete pad, I think, where they plan to erect a future building. Check out our TikTok for the exact location, but this was the site where we flew our drone and stood for ages admiring the view with not a single other person around.
So again, don't be fooled into thinking Kelingking beach is a huge tourist trap. The crowds here are easy to escape if you really try, and the views are most definitely worth it.
