Secret Gili Islands

The 'secret' Gili island's aren't really a secret, but they are severely unpopular compared to the famous Gili's. These Gili's have no mushroom shakes, no parties or rubbish piles or abused horses pulling overweight tourists who can't be bothered walking 5 minutes up the road (sorry, was that harsh? Actually, I'm not sorry. Don't ride the horses). 

The secret Gili's are located South of Lombok and offer pristine beaches, clear water and an abundance of colourful fish and marine life you can admire without having a million other people all swimming and splashing around you. 

Gili Kedis stands out as one of the most memorable Gili's for us - it's so small you can swim the entire way around the island in about 10 minutes! Gili Sudak and Gili Nanggu are slightly bigger and better for snorkelling. You'll get to enjoy a local lunch from the one restaurant on the island (Sudak) which was SO good (order the Gado Gado and the satay skewers!) and find a spot on the islands where you'll feel like the only people there. 

Truely, if you're in Lombok and considering visiting the Gili Islands, visit these ones.
